David Tennant Enthusiastically Narrates an Amusing Animation Explaining Einstein’s Theory of Relativity

The short animation “Einstein 100 – Theory of General Relativity” amusingly celebrates 100 years of Albert Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. The film, which was animated by Eion Duffy, features actor David Tennant buoyantly explaining, in his beautiful Scottish lilt, how Einstein’s unhappiness with Sir Isaac Newton‘s “Law of Gravitation” led to the great physicist creating a more satisfying explanation of his own.

He wasn’t happy with Isaac Newton’s mysterious force of gravity, so he started working on his own theory. Sure enough he cracked it. Mass causes spacetime to curve. The natural motion of things is to follow the simplest path through spacetime. Since objects with mass curves spacetime towards the most massive object. That’s what you feel as gravity. It’s warped space and time that’s keeping your feet on the ground.

Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey” indeed.
