Can I Touch It?” is a portrait project by photographer Endia Beal showing professional middle-aged white women donning traditionally known “black” hairstyles. According to Slate, Beal took the women to a black salon in Woodstock, New York, set them up with a “black” hairstyle (not of their choosing), and photographed them in a traditional corporate portrait (“even if they weren’t happy with the result”).
