Stuntman Holds Three Separate Guinness World Records for Setting His Entire Body on Fire
Stuntman and actor Josef Toedtling from Austria has achieved three fiery entries that will go into the Guinness World Records 2017 Edition for “longest distance pulled by a horse (full body burn),” “longest distance pulled by a vehicle (full body burn),” and “longest duration full body burn (without oxygen).”
Josef travelled an incredible 500 m (1640.42 ft) while completely engulfed in flames, but protected with several layers of clothing and cooling gel, as well as metal shin and elbow pads. These were vital pieces of equipment, as the specially trained stunt horse kept up a brisk canter for the whole attempt, dragging Josef along on his front at about 35 km/h (21 mph). Josef, who has 49 movie credits to his name, was accompanied on his bumpy journey by a quad-bike rider, who replenished the flames with lamp oil as needed. (read more)
