Two Young Sisters Launch a Balloon Carrying a LEGO R2-D2 and a Picture of Their Cat to the Edge of Space

10-year-old Rebecca Yeung and her eight-year-old sister Kimberly recently launched a weather balloon carrying a LEGO R2-D2 and a picture of their cat Loki to the edge of space using a craft they build themselves from arrow shafts and wood. The craft also carried two GoPro cameras that captured the journey. It was also equipped with a GPS tracker and flight computer that gave the girls useful data like their craft’s speed, altitude, and temperature.

Their father Winston Yeung uploaded a short video about the mission narrated by Rebecca and Kimberly as well as nearly half an hour of footage from one of the cameras as the craft floated at the edge of space.
