Russian Cosmonauts Relay the 2014 Olympic Torch During a Spacewalk
Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy relayed the 2014 Sochi Olympic torch during a spacewalk outside of the International Space Station for the first time at 9:34 AM EST on Saturday, November 9th. Olympic torches were taken into space in 1996 and 2000, but this is the first time one has been taken into the vacuum of space.
