Modern Online Brands Presented as Old School Media

Designer Luli Kibudi quite amusingly reinterpreted modern online brands as old-school, subject-appropriate media in her series “Once Appon a Time”. For example, Kibudi reinterpreted Spotify as a cassette tape, Netflix as a VHS videotape, Gmail as an envelope, Pinterest as a bulletin board, Microsoft Word as a typewriter, Wikipedia as a phone book, and LinkedIn as the help-wanted section of a newspaper, just to name a few.

Once appon a time”, a project where modern meets retro.
