In “Misconceptions About Psychology” by Mental Floss, host Elliott Morgan discusses a series of common misconceptions about psychology and debunks many of the myths that are associated with it.

Misconception number ten – everything Sigmund Freud ever said. Okay now that is a generalization but Freud is no longer used as a serious source in the field of psychology. He did get quite a few of his theories wrong like there’s no oral, anal, phallic, and genital stages. No one argues that women experience penis envy and that men have castration anxiety and if someone tries telling you that you have an Oedipus Complex or an Electra complex, get a second opinion.
