Artist Hong Yi Uses 20,000 Tea Bags to Create an Image of a Traditional Malaysian Tea Vendor
Malaysian artist Hong Yi (previously) has created a striking rendering of a traditional Malaysian tea vendor out of 20,000 tea bags. Entitled Teh Tarik Man, the 10.5-foot-tall work weighs a remarkable 440 pounds. Yi steeped or dyed the tea bags to obtain 10 different shades for the work–altogether the project took two months to complete. Teh Tarik Man was commissioned for the World Economic Forum in Davos, where it was displayed back in January.
