A Parody of Atlas Robot Announcement Demo Presented as a Heart Wrenching ASPCA Commercial
In a parody of the video that Boston Dynamics released announcing their new version of the upright walking Atlas robot, photographer Greg Killian used the soundtrack to the famously powerful “Somewhere in America” ASPCA commercial to present the robots as animals who have suffered at the hands of abuse. While this parody may appear to be insensitive, Killian did keep the ASPCA donation information intact.
The video has become great fodder for parody, as demonstrated by the Auralnauts, who created a horror version in which the robot protects its box by any means necessary.
