Microsoft Releases Windows 10 as a Free Update to Users in 190 Countries
Microsoft has released its latest operating system, Windows 10, as a free update to users in 190 countries. The software promises a number of new and updated features like the inclusion of Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana in the OS. Windows 10 features a number of “Universal Apps” that work across different devices like a computer, tablet, or smartphone, and Microsoft has also included their new Microsoft Edge browser.
Microsoft Vice President Joe Belfiore explains a number of the new features available in Windows 10 in a product video from January 2015.
Windows 7 and 8.1 users will receive an alert in their current OS when their update is available, and businesses will be able to upgrade beginning on August 1, 2015.
