Noisebridge Presents Science For Juggalos
Have you ever covered yourself in white facepaint while pondering “Fucking magnets… how do they work?!”. If so, you might be a Juggalo. Lucky for you, some fine folks from Noisebridge are organizing the 1st ever Science For Juggalos to discuss the science behind magnets, rainbows, and other fucking miracles. The science fair will be set up this Saturday, June 5th between 6-8pm outside of the Warfield Theater where the Insane Clown Posse is doing a show.
The Science for Juggalos project was started as a response to the classic Insane Clown Posse song “Miracles“, in which the band expresses their consternation with weather, genetics, and even giraffes. Though Violent J says the song was written to appreciate the beauty of everyday objects, it’s easy to find a militant distrust of science in Shaggy’s lyrics: “And I don’t wanna talk to a scientist, ya’ll motherfuckers lyin’, and getting me pissed.”
Science for Juggalos is looking for more science project submissions and volunteers for this weekend’s event. If you are interested, check out the wiki page to see how you can get involved.
