8-Bit Video Game Pixel Tile Art Installation in Stockholm Subway Station

Swedish artist Lars Arrhenius was commissioned in 2008 to completely cover the Thorildsplan Tunnelbana station in Stockholm, Sweden with 8-bit pixelated tile art inspired by 1970s and 1980s video games such as Dig Dug and Pac-Man.

In 2010, Finnish punkpop band, MadCraft, created an energetic music video for their song, NeverAgain, which uses the station’s 8-bit art as a backdrop:
