WordPress is having a party to celebrate their 5th birthday this Tuesday, May 27th at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. RSVP on Upcoming or Facebook.

Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress, announced the first release of WordPress (version 0.7) on May 27th, 2003.

you know… after comparing the fantastic party that Zappos organized on Medjol (via Twitter) to the Stumble Upon party in 111 Minna, I think it’s safe to say I’m going to avoid planned tech parties for a while, especially ones at 111.

At one party, I met people, actually had the ability to converse with them, and left feeling good and drunk. At the other, I could barely move, couldn’t hear anything other than the crash-mix dj, and only had the choice of beer or wine.

After having such a good time at Zappo’s party I thought “Why have I been avoiding these parties?!”… after 111 Minna I thought “Oh, THIS is why.”
