They Might Be Giants Doing Free Concert at Site of First Music Video

They Might Be Giants will be performing a free concert on July 29th at the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn. This is the location where their very first music video “(Put Your Hands Inside) The Puppet Head” was filmed in 1985.

They Might Be Giants are overjoyed to announce they are performing a FULL LENGTH FREE CONCERT on Friday July 29 at the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn, NY. The show also features the always genius Eugene Mirman. Capacity is approximately 6000. The show will survey the band’s entire career including selections from their brand new Join Us album. Twenty five years ago They Might Be Giants ventured on to the waterfront of the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn with Adam Bernstein, a 16mm Bolex camera and a boom box to make a their first video. Ultimately the clip would find it’s way in to rotation on the MTV and bring TMBG to a national audience.
