How Macaroni and Cheese Was Prepared in 1784

Jas. Townsend, an 18th Century re-enactor and proprietor of Townsends reenactment supplies, jovially cooked up a classic dish of macaroni and cheese, as it was prepared in 1784 during the Colonial period of the United States. Throughout his wonderfully authentic culinary video series, Townsend demonstrates how to prepare food using only what was available between the years of 1750 to 1840.

Other recipes include a hearty barley soup, poached corn, and candied lime peel.
