Illumaphone, An Electronic Instrument Built From Stolen Coffee Cups That Uses Light to Play Notes
The Illumaphone is an electronic musical instrument hand built by New York-based software engineer Bonnie Eisenman from six stolen coffee cups that uses spatial and light recognition to produce sound. The instrument is played a bit like a theremin, with the musician waving their arms around to manipulate the notes.
