Bathers Create Zany Frozen Hairstyles by Bobbing Their Heads Out of Hot Springs Into Frigid Air in Yukon, Canada
Adventurous bathers braved temperatures well below freezing in Whitehorse, Yukon, last month to participate in a hair freezing contest at Takhini Hot Pools. The Canadian natural hot springs flow at a temperature of 116.6° Farenheit, creating a relaxing contrast to the bitter cold of the Yukon winter, and a perfect chance to create wacky frozen hairstyles by going underwater and quickly back above the surface. The winning photo, shown above, includes not only frozen hair but also frozen eyebrows and a frozen beard.
