A Thoughtful Stephen Colbert Tries to Make Sense of the U.S. Presidential Election Process

While closing out the Late Show Election Special, a very thoughtful Stephen Colbert tried to make sense of the incoming results of the night, the highly convoluted American election process, and the incredible divisiveness of the nation as a result of each campaign.

With election results still uncertain, and in light of Donald Trump’s unexpected surge, Stephen turns to history and his mother in search of an explanation.
