A Festive Explanation of the Chemistry of Poinsettia Plants

The-Chemistry-of-Poinsettia-Plants

Compound Interest has released an attractive and informative graphic explaining the chemistry of poinsettia plants and how the anthocyanin pigments contained in the red leaves can be used to measure pH.

Because the plants are a common decoration seen during the Christmas season, the graphic was released as part of the Compound Interest 2014 Chemistry Advent Calendar. The calendar is a page releasing a series of different Christmas-themed chemistry facts in the days leading up to Christmas.
