Gimball, A Drone With a Rotating Protective Cage Designed to Help Locate People After a Disaster

Gimball is a drone designed by Swiss robotics startup Flyability that is built with a rotating collision-tolerant cage to help protect its inner workings in high-risk areas, such as search and rescue missions after a disaster. The UAV, which features a built-in gyroscope to help it stay right side up even as the cage rotates, won its creators a $1 million grant from the United Arab Emirates Drones for Good program.
