The Shadow Government by They Might Be Giants

“The Shadow Government” is the latest music video by They Might Be Giants, from their latest album “The Else”. It was animated by the Los Angeles production studio Colourmovie and premiered this week on Spinner.

“‘The Shadow Government’ is about waking up from a nightmare only to find yourself in the same bad dream” guitarist John Flansburgh tells Spinner. The politically-charged imagery and evil moon illustrate Flansburgh’s explanation of the song. “It’s really a mad scramble of all a bunch of different events in these frightening, manic times in which we live,” he explains.

Speaking of They Might Be Giants, they are currently on tour and are playing the The Fillmore in San Francisco on September 30th.

UPDATE: TMGB have released another music video: “I’m Impressed”
