The Amazing Randi, Investigating Paranormal Claims

Spacemonkey tipped us off to a great video of James Randi (aka The Amazing Randi) who recently gave talk at Google. Randi, who runs the James Randi Educational Foundation, is a magician and escape artist, who is best known as an investigator and demystifier of paranormal, supernatural and pseudoscientific claims.

Through JREF he has established the “One Million Dollar Challenge Paranormal Challenge” where they will “offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.” If you are up for the challenge, here’s the application.

James Randi was a speaker at Science Foo Camp 2007 and while he was in town Google invited him to give a follow-up talk at the Googleplex on Monday after the event.

Thanks to Spacemonkey for the tip!
