Piano-Playing Fan Asks Billy Joel to Perform Together, Joel Obliges

During a recent performance at Vanderbilt University, freshman and pianist Michael Pollack asked Billy Joel if he could accompany him on stage to perform together. Joel hesitated for a moment but then said yes. So, in a magical impromptu moment, Pollack played piano and Joel sang “New York State of Mind” together for the surprised crowd. Inside Vandy interviewed Pollack on the experience and he says, “It was probably the greatest moment of my life…”
