BURNcast.TV is reporting that Paul Addis has been granted parole by unanimous vote from the Nevada State Parole Board. Paul was sentenced up to 4 years for attempting to burn down the Burning Man sculpture at the 2007 event and has been serving time in a Nevada State prison since June 27, 2008. A release date has not yet been set.

UPDATE: Amacker posted more information regarding Paul’s parole.

Paul stated his parole plan: he has work lined up as an auto-emissions inspector in Vegas, and only when his time is up, in February 2010, will he return to the Bay Area. And for how long, it’s unknown, but I think his heart is on traveling.

He’s in a half-way house in Vegas; six months tops, there.

If the bmorg llc really had what it takes, they’d give Paul a free ticket and a pack of matches.

It was reckless, but the BMorg should have never pressed charges in the amount they did.
I was there. Monday is the NEW Saturday!

Sadly the org were in no position to be able to commute the sentence. Once the godamned authorities get in to the mix the machine starts to grind and viola! 4 years for burning something – that was going to be burned anyway.

That was my last burn after 10 consecutive years. I think I may keep it that way.

If anyone has a way for me to get in touch with Paul- to send him a birthday card or whatever he might like to help him get along till Feb. please feel free to contact me.
