Google Celebrates 65th Birthday of Freddie Mercury With Google Doodle

Google celebrates what would have been the 65th birthday of Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the rock band Queen, with an animated Google Doodle, the second largest one that they have ever done (their Charlie Chaplin one was longer).

Doodler Jennifer Hom was the brains behind the elaborate doodle, which was a team effort. She and other illustrators spent about three months putting the whole thing together. They even studied a bunch of old Queen albums and videos to pick out visual cues.

The Freddie Mercury Google Doodle was published around the world on his birthday, September 5th (in the US it will run on September 6th due to a conflict with Labor Day).
