The Memory Cable is a clever new cable by guitar manufacturer Gibson with a digital recorder built-in. The recording device designed by Tascam sits toward one end of the cord and saves the guitar playing as CD quality sound directly to a Micro SD card, which can then be transferred to a computer. The recording device itself runs on battery power, but the whole thing will continue to function as a standard guitar cable when the battery runs out. The “Inspiration Insurance,” as Gibson calls it, will be available in the US on May 15th.
