Yuri’s Night 2010, The World Space Party

Yuri’s Night 2010 is a worldwide celebration of the first orbit around the Earth by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. It takes place each year on April 12th, with many of this years’s events falling on Saturday, April 10th. Here’s the full list of events.

Yuri’s Night is an international celebration of the orbital flight of Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, on April 12, 1961. It also marks the first space shuttle flight in April 1981. An annual event, Yuri’s Night is celebrated at more than 90 events in 30 countries. It is a global celebration of human space achievement, designed to raise awareness and support for space exploration.

Yuri’s Night Bay Area returns to NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA for a two-day interactive arts and educational event on April 9-10.
