Van Gogh’s Iconic Painting ‘Bedroom in Arles’ Physically Recreated as a Room to Rent on Airbnb
For their exhibition “Van Gogh’s bedrooms” taking place February 14 – May 10, 2016, the Art Institute of Chicago physically recreated the sparsely beautiful painting “Bedroom in Arles” by the talented but tragic artist Vincent van Gogh. The Institute artists painstakingly captured every detail of the surrealist painting as they brought it in to the life-sized physical realm and offered as a room for rent on the home sharing service Airbnb, using Van Gogh’s possible voice to describe the room.
This room will make you feel like you’re living in a painting. It’s decorated in a Post-Impressionist style, reminiscent of Southern France and times gone by. Its furniture, bright colors, and artwork will give you the experience of a lifetime. I’m charging $10 for no other reason than that I need to buy paint. However, I will be happy to provide you with tickets to my exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.
