‘The Caryatid’, A Six-Foot-Tall Column Made of a Lattice of 15,000 Pennies

The Caryatid is a six-foot-tall column constructed from a lattice of 15,000 pennies. The shiny new 2014 pennies are notched and joined to form the column’s dodecahedral lattice. The sculpture was created by artist Robert Wechsler back in 2014–we previously posted about his intricate geometric coin sculptures.
