Solo Speed Record Ascent of Eiger Mountain by Ueli Steck

In 2008, Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck completed the challenging and deadly Heckmair route up Switzerland’s Eiger Mountain by himself in only 2 hours and 47 minutes, a record which still stands. This video of Steck’s climb makes it clear why 65 climbers have perished on this route since 1935.
