‘Sea Chair’, A Short Film About Building Furniture From Plastic Garbage Found Floating in the Ocean
“Sea Chair” is a wordless short directed by Dutch filmmaker Juriaan Booij of Studio Swine that follows fishermen as they collected discarded plastic garbage from the ocean, which they melt down and fashion into a stool. The short was created to raise awareness of the growing concentration of plastic in the ocean, which is currently estimated to be around 46,000 pieces per square kilometer.
