Rackspace Launches OpenStack To Open Source The Cloud

Rackspace has just announced the launch of OpenStack, their new open source cloud platform. It consists of two projects: OpenStack Object Storage which is based on Cloud Files and OpenStack Compute which is based on Cloud Servers and NASA Nebula Cloud Platform. Here’s the full press release.

OpenStack is an open-source cloud platform designed to foster the emergence of technology standards and cloud interoperability.
