‘Golden Age of Insects: The Great Grasshoppers’, A Short Video Featuring an Incredibly Small Animated Pilot
“In 1903, Olivia Wright was the first to pilot the great grasshoppers of North America.”
“Golden Age of Insects: The Great Grasshoppers” is a whimsical short film by Wayne Unten, an animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios, that imagines a world where people piloted grasshoppers once upon a time.
Unten created this clip by adding an animated pilot over the top of live-action footage shot with his iPhone using the TVPaint animation software without resorting to rotoscoping.
