Atomic Size Matters is a doctoral thesis in chemistry presented as a fully illustrated comic book by Veronica Berns, PhD. Berns prepared the comic book for non-scientists as an alternate to the more technical, elaborate, and hard-to-understand version she wrote for her advisory committee. Her thesis focused on quasicrystals, a type of solid material that has rotational symmetry, but not translational symmetry.
