Atlas of True Names, Maps That Replace Location Names With Their Original Meanings
Kalimedia has created the Atlas of True Names, a collection of maps that use etymology to translate the names of places into their original meanings. For example, the city of Chicago becomes “Stink Onions” and Mexico translates to “Navel of the Moon.” Different versions of the Atlas of True Names are available to purchase for the USA, Canada, British Isles, Europe, and the world from Kalimedia.
