‘Desire To Fly’, A Short Film Exploring Artist Samantha Bryan’s Process of Creating Fairies
“Desire to Fly” is a short film by R&A Collaborations showcasing the process by which artist Samantha Bryan creates whimsical fairy figures. Stemming from her own desire to be a pilot, Bryan builds Victorian-style gadgets and fairies to operate them. Each one begins with a special found object as the basis of the character and is then put together using the artist’s vast collection of wire, leather, buttons, and other found objects.
