Pumpkinsteins, California-Grown Pumpkins Shaped Like the Head of Frankenstein’s Monster
Southern California farmer Tony Dighera of Cinagro Farms has developed a method for growing pumpkins shaped like the head of Frankenstein’s monster. Dighera creates the “pumpkinsteins” by growing the pumpkins in plastic molds. He was inspired to create them after successfully replicating the square watermelons that were originally developed in Japan. His entire first crop of 5,500 “pumpkinsteins” has been sold to retailers for this year’s Halloween season, and he plans on growing 30,000 to 40,000 next year.
