The Emoji Translation Project, An Emoji Translation Engine and Phrasebook

The Emoji Translation Project is a proposed emoji translation engine and phrasebook that would translate common English phrases into universally understood emoji strings that is being developed by Fred Benenson and Chris Mulligan. The pair is raising funds with a Kickstarter campaign for the translation and data processing needed to complete such a task.

Beneson’s past work in the field of emoji translation include Emoji Dick, an emoji translation of the Herman Melville classic Moby Dick.
