Tempo, a calendar app for iOS, aims to be more of a personal assistant than a traditional calendar. Created by SRI International — the company who made Siri before it was purchased by Apple — Tempo aggregates data from your contacts, email, documents, and other apps like LinkedIn, Foursquare, and Yelp to prepare you for events and meetings. Once a meeting is scheduled, Tempo will pull in relevant documents and emails and build a contact list of all the attendees for easy access within the app. Tempo can also give you a map of the meeting’s location, driving directions, and even parking suggestions. It’s compatible with Siri, so you can schedule events, check flight times, and dial into conference calls using voice commands. Tempo is free and available now from the iTunes app store, though you may have to sign up and reserve your spot in line before you can access it.
