‘Fight or Flight or Whatever’, A Short Documentary About How People React When They Are Robbed at Gunpoint
“Fight or Flight or Whatever” is a short by filmmakers Andrew Norton and Chris Wardle about the time Toronto comedian Rob Norman had two robbers enter his home when he was asleep in his bed. The short explores the concept of “fight-or-flight,” and how our initial reaction doesn’t always fit comfortably into one of those two categories.
You’re being robbed at gunpoint, but you also have to deal with the fact that you’re not who you thought you were. You’re not Bruce Willis in “Die Hard.” You are weak, you are helpless and you were instantly submissive. That door came down and you gave up completely.
The story is retold through animations by artist Drew Shannon.
