My post about Time for Timer reminded me of all of those After School Specials I watched growing up. The ABC television series was produced for adolescents to help them to deal with difficult life issues. Here’s the promo for a classic episode about divorce “My Dad Lives in a Downtown Hotel”. Last year Marisa Meltzer wrote a great article for Slate analyzing the After School Special and it’s impact on culture.

If you want to experience it all again, there’s a 26 episode DVD box set of the series.
