Stephen Colbert Responds to Jeb Bush’s Unauthorized ‘The Late Show’ Fundraising Contest
Jeb Bush will appear as a guest on the first episode of The Late Show with new host Stephen Colbert, and the Presidential candidate has launched a fundraising contest around the appearance without Colbert’s consent or knowledge.
Colbert responded to the contest in a YouTube video where he calls out Bush for trying to fundraise off The Late Show and announces a contest of his own. Colbert is offering donors a chance to attend the taping of his first show and submit a question that Colbert will ask Bush in the interview. All proceeds from Colbert’s contest will go to The Yellow Ribbon Fund.
Bush has since responded to Colbert’s video with one of his own, announcing that he’s lowering the required donation to his contest to one dollar and that he’ll be entering Colbert’s contest with a donation to the Yellow Ribbon Fund.
