Portrait of Burmese Opposition Leader Aung San Suu Kyi Made Out of 2,000 Colored Flowers

As a tribute to Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, Malaysian artist Hong Yi made a portrait of the Nobel laureate out of 2,000 white carnations. To create the portrait, she placed each flower in a cup of water, selectively adding red dye to some of the cups. The flowers took a day to absorb the pigment and after five days the portrait wilted and had to be removed. The portrait was displayed at a resort in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, back in January.
