‘PBS Idea Channel’ Tackles Fan Fiction, Canon, and ‘The Legend of Korra’
PBS Idea Channel host Mike Rugnetta takes a look at fan fiction, canon, and the animated television show The Legend of Korra in the latest episode of the series. Rugnetta specifically uses a certain romantic pairing in Korra to explore the many ways in which fan fiction serves as a sometimes better–or perhaps more useful–outlet for fans than traditional canonical sources, and how fan fiction sometimes influences official sources.
