Binary Blankets, Computer Files Turned Into Woven Blankets
Computer files become tangible objects in the “Binary Blankets” series by artist Phillip Stearns. To create each blanket design, Stearns converts binary computer files from programs like Mac OS X and Microsoft Word into image files. Stearns then has the image files woven into custom blankets by an American manufacturer. The blankets are available for purchase.
