Clever Repurposing Ideas for Silica Gel Packets Found in Consumer Packaging

The Virginia non-profit Sustainability Matters sugested a number of clever alternative repurposing ideas for the silica gel packets that are often found in consumer packaging. Because the silica gel packet was originally used to keep out moisture, its petite size lends itself to a variety of places that need to stay dry.

Next time you find a silica gel packet in something you buy do not toss it out because there are actually a ton of practical ways to reuse these. These packets help fight moisture buildup so I like putting them pretty much anywhere that needs to stay dry.
