Adam Savage and Astronaut Chris Hadfield Walk the San Diego Comic-Con Floor in ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ Cosplay

To continue his tradition of walking the floor at San Diego Comic-Con in costume, Mythbuster Adam Savage recreated the silver spacesuit from 2001: A Space Odyssey. To avoid suspicion after also wearing a spacesuit in 2014, Savage decided to bring a partner along, and asked retired astronaut Chris Hadfield to wear a suit as well.

Savage outfitted each suit with a special cooling unit to avoid becoming overheated like he did in 2014, and goes over each feature of the suits with Hadfield in a video by Tested. The costume also featured replica lunch boxes from the film, in which the men carried sandwiches.
