A Legally Blind Astronomer Built His Own Observatory in Nova Scotia
Tim Doucette was born with congenital cataracts which left him legally blind, but that has not stopped him from becoming an astronomer. He built his own observatory near his home in Nova Scotia called Deep Sky Eye where he gets a unique view of the galaxy. Surgery left Doucette with just 10% of his vision, but his unique situation allows him to see details in the night sky that most people miss.
