‘A Brief History of House Music’, An Eclectic Method Remix Music Video Tracing the Roots of the Dance Music Genre

“A Brief History of House Music” is a documentary-style remix music video by Eclectic Method (previously) that charts the birth of the hugely popular electronic music genre using interviews with influential musicians and samples of 29 different tracks, sequenced in chronological order.

It opens with a healthy nod to the “disco” of Giorgio Moroder but then jumps to the more commonly referenced start of house music in the mid 80s at Chicago’s “Warehouse” club, where Frankie Knuckles kickstarted a global movement with two turntables and a party crowd enjoying a resurgence of LSD and its younger cousin Ecstasy that would help fuel a second summer of love for the rave generation.
