United Airlines Launches Satellite-based Onboard Wi-Fi Service

United Airlines has begun rolling out satellite-based Internet connections on select international and domestic routes. It is the first US carrier to offer Wi-Fi on long haul overseas routes. The satellite-based service is faster than existing in-flight Wi-Fi services that use air-to-ground connections.
